The colours are "working", they rescue from the black the artist's image, abstracting her from the darkness and so bringing her back to light.
Baldassari’s paintings are made of multiple stratifications of acrylic colours and transparent materials, the final result is that each picture changes notably its forms and colours when changes the light that surrounds it or the position of the observer.
